Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel)

Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) is one of the largest companies in Asia with subsidiaries dealing in mobile phone services, publishing, telecom equipment and others.

In 1974, Singapore Telephone Board (STB) and Telecommunications Authority of Singapore (TAS) merged retaining the name Telecommunications Authority of Singapore (TAS).

On April 1992 however, the commercial functions of TAS were hives to form Singapore Telecom (SingTel) and Singapore Post. SingTel is licensed to provide telecommunications services in Singapore. It was listed on the Singapore Exchange in 1993.
